Haverfield has the ability to provide aerial infrared power line inspections. Our established experience along with enhanced high resolution equipment allows us to locate potential problems and assist utilities with eliminating failures in transmission, distribution and substation systems. Infrared inspections incorporate computer enhanced infrared imaging to detect hot spots on transmissions line and line components. This can be a valuable airborne tool to prevent a failure before it happens.
The remote-controlled FLIR Systems 2000 series infrared camera is mounted on the underside of the helicopter and has a thermal resolution of 1/10°F, and a pictorial resolution of 525 lines per frame (560 CCIR) with 352 elements per line (428 CCIR).
