Michael Gross

Director of Safety

Michael Gross (Mike) joined Haverfield Aviation in 2022 after retiring from the United States Army as a Lieutenant Colonel. Mike previously served as a Safety Specialist with Haverfield earning his Certified Utility Safety Professional Certificate (CUSP) and completing the OSHA 10- & 30-hour courses. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Ball State University, a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Delaware Valley University. His military experience started as a junior enlisted paratrooper in Telecommunications and ended as a senior aviation leader and helicopter instructor pilot. With over 2,500 flight hours, Mike holds an FAA Helicopter Certified Flight Instructor/Instrument Instructor certificate (CFII), a UAS Remote Pilot Certificate, and a commercial type rating in the S-70 and S-70M helicopters. He has additional experience in the Bell 206, UH-1, and UH-60 (A,L,M,V) aircraft. Mike currently volunteers with the Civil Air Patrol as a squadron commander and is currently working towards his fixed wing pilot certificate. Mike is energetic in his new role as the Director of Safety and looks forward to Haverfield’s continued success in the aviation industry.
